Thrive Class Styles

  • REFORMER

In each reformer class, you can expect…

An awesome workout on the resistance machine. It’s generally a total body workout however, the instructor might focus more on lower body or upper body! You will be offered levels and we always encourage you so work to yours – we don’t do competition or comparison at Thrive! We understand that everyone is there for their own reasons and we support & meet each member where they are at!

Suitable for… beginners through to advance. We can manage most injuries and niggles, however please note that these are group fitness Pilates classes and are not targeted at rehab or physio style workouts. If this is what you need, please let us know and we can pop you into one of our amazing Small Group Classes!

  • MATWORK

In each matwork class, you can expect…

An epic total body class with focus ranging from upper body, core & lower body. We often through some strength, balance, mobility & resistance work in and have been known to add cardio as well!

Suitable for… beginners through to advance.

As these workouts are done ‘on the mat’, there may be some up & down movements that may not be suitable for those with vertigo & bad knees / backs.

  • BARRE

In each barre class, you can expect…

The burniest, shakiest legs!! Again, we throw some upper body & core work in however Thrive barre classes are designed with the legs & booty in mind. You can expect squats, lunges, pliès and cardio – ooooh you can expect to get sweaty in here!! Barre was derived from ballet but don’t stress, we’re pretty good at daggy dancing but we won’t ask for too much coordination or rhythm 😉

Suitable for… beginners through to advance.

These classes involve a lot of standing and squatting so may not be suitable for those with knee, ankle or feet issues.

  • STRENGTH & CARDIO

In each strength & cardio class, you can expect…

To get a whole lot sweaty!! This class is based on a traditional HIIT (high intensity interval training) however we use Pilates, strength & cardio moves!

    Suitable for… beginner through advanced.

This is a fast paced class and whilst we can provide modifications, we don’t recommend this class for those recovering from knee, shoulder or back injuries. There’s a bit of stand up / sit down / stand up / lie down in this class so be mindful to eat something prior to the class starting.

  • YOGA

In each yoga class, you can expect…

all of our yoga classes are restorative and a beautiful balance to our classes. They help remind us to slow down and take time to be still.

Suitable for… beginners through to advance. We can manage most injuries and niggles, however please note that these are group classes (often with over 15 people in each class) so there is minimum hands on adjustments provided

  • STRETCH & RELEASE

In each stretch class, you can expect…

An incredible mix of stretch, release, foam roller / trigger ball work, these classes will leave you blissed out!

Suitable for… beginners through to advance.

As these workouts are done ‘on the mat’, there may be some up & down movements that may not be suitable for those with vertigo & bad knees / backs.

  • SMALL GROUP CLASSES

In each Small Group Class, you can expect…

    A private & intimate setting.

    3 Reformer Machines.

3 different workouts happening at once!

These are not your typical pilates classes. They are completely personalised to YOUR needs. 3 different members with very different needs / goals / movement limitations - 3 different workouts going on at once!

  • THRIVE IGNITE

Thrive’s sister studio IGNITE is now open at Coffs Jetty (Orlando Lane Building)!!

The original idea for creating Ignite was born from my love of reformer and strength training. I saw a gap in the market when it came to building strength, moving your body with intention and not feeling intimidated.

Using progressive overload, fundamental moves both on the reformer and using the dumbbells, we are able to combine two really great elements of working out, building strength and safely moving your body in a controlled environment to achieve a desired outcome.

Now one thing that is really important to me is if someone comes to Ignite, they don’t feel intimidated, they don’t feel scared to start and when they are in class they feel supported and challenged. I’ve been in the fitness industry for over 10 years and I’m still really not a fan of going to the gym by myself, coming up with programs, trying to find things to do. Having had really bad experiences in the past so I wanted to create a space that people could come with a view to work out, get sweaty, get strong, move their bodies and kick some really epic goals!

    No overwhelm, no second-guessing!

Don’t forget - this isn’t Pilates with a bit of strength / cardio thrown in - we’re getting our nerd on and writing these class plans using exercise science to get your body moving and to get you strong.

If you are wanting to start moving your body with intention and with growth in mind, this is for you.
